Overall, the album proved to be a very interesting listen and managed to bring upon me a very heavy experience. The band managed to fuse their great musicianship with something so unique and outstanding that is beyond my acquired knowledge to explain. I was moss-gazing after about half the record. And on this album one can even experience influences from psychedelic rock. But having never delved into the catacombs of Sludge Metal, my ears desired something new, something up to date, and less mainstream.

Have patience in the 72 minutes this album offers and know that this band will mature more with next release if they stay on this road that they have discovered. Taking all this into account, it's no coincidence that both the lyrics and Swiss monolith ABRAHAM create a barren aural landscape where grand rock faces of guitars loom large over occasional restrained moments of calm sublimity and haunting beauty.

The juxtaposition between straight-forward riffage and mellow, yet noisy passages really stands out and the fuzzy guitars give a very dreamlike feeling to the whole experience. The new album contains elements from Sludge, Stoner, Black Metal, Prog--Metal, Doom, Psychedelic Rock, Post--Hardcore and shows more dynamics in song writing, instrumentation and a stronger variety of vocals.

Everything ebbs and flows with a very natural rhythm, without much to jar a steady nod of the head. This is music to be experienced not necessarily enjoyed in a dark room with a glass of wine to hand and I feel that Zatokrev have latched on to the essence of doom beyond the self-indulgent head-holding of the genre.
